About Melissa
I'm an artist, graphic designer, writer and animal lover in Arlington, Texas. I have degrees in English and Psychology. However, I've been drawing animals since I could hold a crayon, and I always dreamed that my artwork could somehow help animals in need. In 2008, with the launch of A Horse's Life, that dream will become a reality. A Horse's Life will collect money for homeless and needy horses through the sale of fun, original T-shirts, coffee mugs, art prints and more.
When I'm not working or creating art, I can be found at a local boarding stable playing with my horse Rhona. I adopted Rhona from a horse rescue organization in 2006, and she was the inspiration behind A Horse's Life.
I'm also lucky enough to share my life with a husband, two dogs and two cats, all of whom I rescued in some way or another. :)
My non-animal-related hobbies and interests include science fiction/fantasy, natural medicine, collecting semi-precious gemstones and spending time with my adorable niece and nephew.
